Spider decorations are one of my favorite ways to decorate for Halloween because you can make them work almost anywhere. A single oversized spider crawling across the front of a house can completely change how the property looks, while a few small spiders around a mirror or fireplace can give an indoor room just enough Halloween character.
What I especially like about spider decor is that you don’t need to cover your home in decorations. Spiders already have a naturally creepy shape, so scale and placement often matter more than quantity.

I wouldn’t cover every wall, window, tree, and railing. Instead, create a few concentrated areas that make it look as though a giant spider infestation is slowly spreading across the property.
From the street, the oversized spider should grab attention first. As visitors get closer, they can discover the smaller spiders and webs.

For a small display, I might use black spiders around a mirror, a web-covered shrub, or one spider above the front door. For a bigger outdoor setup, an enormous spider stretching across a light-colored house is hard to beat.
The main thing I would avoid is using the same spider everywhere.
Mix the scale. Let one giant spider become the focal point, then use smaller spiders to create movement around windows, railings, trees, or webs.
And don’t feel like every surface needs webbing. Empty space makes the spiders easier to notice and often makes the entire display look more convincing.
